Learning Outcomes of the Course : Student recognize Turkish Folk Beliefs. They make an anology between Ancient Turkish Beliefs and Islam. They separate the Ancient Turkish Beliefs from the living folk beliefs in İslam culture. They learn local beliefs living in different parts of Turkish society.

Aim(s) of Course : Aim of this course is to analyse Turkish Folk Beliefs and Culture examine Folk beliefs in Turkish Society. Aim of this course is also to compare Ancient Turkish Beliefs and Contemporary Folk Beliefs and to reveal traces of Ancient Turkish Beliefs in Islam.

Course Contents : This lesson includes revealing of folk beliefs in Turkish society and comparing the pre-Islamic Turkish Beliefs and Islam. This lesson also contains motifs of contemporary folk beliefs of which source is Ancient Turkish Religion
