Learning Outcomes of the Course : To explain objectives, fields of study and methods of Religious Education Science.
To aware the relationship between man´s responsibility and educability.
To give examples of verses in the Qur´an about the perspective of education.
To explain that religious education in schools has contributed to the realization of the Turkish national education the general objectives.
To comprehend that religious education forms an essential part of man general education.
To found that religious education in a reliable environment will contribute to the development of human psychological and social growing.
To evaluate that religious education in secular education system will be done by giving examples of applications in the world.
To explain that religious education in schools, mosques and families carries the different features.
To know experiences of religious education in some countries.

Aim(s) of Course : To provide knowledge and understanding on basic concepts of education and religious education, fields of religious education, theories of religious development, history of religious education in Turkey and religious education in schools some selected western countries.

Course Contents : Some concepts of religious education, the fields of religion education, its principles and relationship between other sciences are going to be referred theories of religious development, religion and learning, historical development and legal sources of religious education in Turkey, training of teachers for religion, experiences of religious education of western countries.

Language of Instruction : Turkish
