Aim(s) of Course |
: |
The aim of this course is to enable the students to understand the relationship between irrigation and the environment, to evaluate the effects of irrigation on the environment and to obtain the necessary information to reduce or eliminate these effects. |

Agriculture and environmental problems, soil and water pollutions, pollutants and effects; environmental impact of irrigated agriculture, global warming and water shortages, nutrient and pesticid pollutions and eutrofication, drainage and salinity problems; waste waters nad reuse of waste waters, socio-economic effects of irrigated agriculture, environmental impact assessment (EIA): principles and methods; EIA of irrigation and drainage projects. |
