Learning Outcomes of the Course |
: |
Develops his/her ability to materialize sensory and abstract perception. Acquires basic anatomic knowledge needed to create figures and improves his/her observation skills. Uses different plastic forming techniques and materials and makes large scale works. Performs the first firing and glaze firing steps of the formed and dried works. Creates solutions for assembling and presentation problems of the art works. Evaluates ceramic sculptures from past to present in terms of technique, form and theme.

Aim(s) of Course |
: |
This course aims to help students develop hand-eye coordination in art and design, visual perception and the creation of aesthetic values. The course also aims to guide students in producing original and creative works of art by providing them with theory and practical information necessary for creating, coloring and firing three-dimensional objects using ceramic material.

Course Contents |
: |
The development of a project using ceramic material and anatomical modeling, drawing and model studies, the identification and preparation of materials suitable for forming, theoretical information about anatomy, obtaining practical information in forming stage, information on drying, finishing, oxidation, coating, glazing, the first firing and glaze firing stages, evaluation of results. |
