Have a broad understanding of basic economic relations Have a broad understanding of GDP, its components (C, I, G, X,M), the relationship among them. Gain a broad understanding of growth, price indexes, inflation, unemployment, business cycles and interaction among them. Have a broad understanding of monetary and fiscal policies and the roles of money supply and demand for money for sustainable growth rates. Understand equilibrium level of prices and output in economy, how AD and AS works in the long-run and in the short-run.

Aim(s) of Course |

Introduction to Economics II deals with macroeconomics. Subjects such as national income accounting and its determination, aggregate demand and aggregate supply, equilibrium income, fiscal policy, monetary policy, money and banking, the price level, inflation, umemployment, growth and economic fluctuations will be covered. |

National income and its determination; changes in national income, elements of public finance, money and banking, international trade, macroeconomic policy, economic growth and development. Illustrations from the Turkish economy will be taught. |
