Explains basic skills and princibles of psychological counseling Gives appropriate sample for each basic therapeutic skill in counseling process.. Makes list of thechniques and methods used in counseling process Explains counselor’s functions in different phases of counseling. Displays therapeutic skills in the relation between client and counselor. Makes connection between therapeutic conditions and basic helping skills in counseling. Applies starting and terminating skills in counseling process. Gives appropriate sample for each helping skill during counseling process.. Explains basic principles of psychological counseling. Makes list of basic concepts and principles.

The overall objective of this course is to have students gain the knowledge, skills and attitudes regarding psychological counseling.

Course Contents |
: |
In this course some information about counseling process and characteristics, differences among psychotherapy, counseling and guidance concepts, counseling principles and techniques is given to students. The presentation of the course subjects are performed by the Instructor. Essential helping skills and skills related with therapeutic conditions , stages in the individual helping process and the client’s experience in counseling. These mentioned course subjects are taught theoretically, giving examples, with computer presentations, giving daily assignments, by dramatization, role playing, modeling, videos etc. with various applications. |
