Learning Outcomes of the Course |

Know the basic concepts of pharmacology. Learn the effect mechanism of drugs. Know the drug-drug interaction. Describe side effects of drugs, pharmaceutical applications, and the contraindications of drugs. Describe the pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic properties of drugs. Explain autonomic nervous system physiology and classify medications used for this system. Classify the drugs which are used in cardiovascular disorders and explain their complications. Know the drugs used in central nervous system . Know the drugs affecting several systems (Digestive, Endocrine system etc.) of the human body

After studying this lesson, students should be able to define general pharmacology and its major subdivisions, describe a drug and explain the differences between a therapeutic effect, side effects, toxic effect, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamic characteristics. |

Introduction to Pharmacology,classification of medicine, routes of drug administration, absorption, distribution, metabolism and elimination of drugs in body, drug interaction , Autonomic Nervous System drugs ,chemotherapeutics, cardiovascular system drugs, Drugs Affecting the Endocrine System, Analgesic and non-steroidal anti inflammatory drugs, drugs used in the central nervous system diseases and digestive system drugs, respiratory system drugs. |
