Learning Outcomes of the Course : Learn the plant properties of the greenhouse vegetables, phsiologically and morphologically and their ecological requirments inside the greenhouse
Learn the greenhouse vegetables species and their popular trade cultivars,
Learn and apply the modern greenhouse cultivation techniques (using grafted seedling, transplanting, watering, fertigation, pollination, climate control, diseases and pests)
Supervise the technical properties of the greenhouse establisment
Supervise sustainable greenhouse vegetable production

Aim(s) of Course : To teach the modern greenhouse productin techniques of tomato, pepper, eggplant, cuucmber, melon, squash etc.

Course Contents : The production of the most important greenhouse vegetables in the World and in Turkey like tomato, pepper, eggplant, cucumber, melon, squash etc are investigated. The properties of the greenhouse production periods, popular vegetable varieties, the environmental and climatical requirements of the vegetables (temperature, relative humidity, lighting etc.), plant density in transplanting, pruning, fertigation schedules, water requirements, pollination, CO2 fertilization, soilless growing requirements, diseases and pest of the each vegetable species are investigated in detail.
