Learning Outcomes of the Course : Knows the structural and functional properties of hay handling equipments (Hay mowers, hay conditioners, windrowers, hay rakes, hay balers, bale picking and transporting systems, forage harvesters, forage vagoons, silo loaders and unloaders).
Knows the structural and functional properties of storing, weighing, comminuting, mixing, pelleting equipments used in feed plants
Knows the structural and functional properties of milking machines (Milking plants) and milking parlors.
Knows the structural and functional properties of manure scrapers used animal houses.
Knows the structural and functional properties of feeding and watering systems used animal house and incubators.

Aim(s) of Course : Aim of this lecture, to learn the structural and functional proporties of the machinery and equipments used mechanization of animal husbandry (Hay making, feed preparation, milking, manure handling and storage, feeding, watering, poultry housing).

Course Contents : The machinery and equipments used hay making (Mowers, rakes, hay conditioners, balers, bale picking and transporting, forage harvesters, forage blowers, silo unloaders), Structural and functional proporties of the feed preperation systems uded feed plants (silos,weighers, comminution machines, mixers, pelleting and delivering), Manure scrapers, Milking machines and milking parlour, feeding and watering systems, İncubators for hens.

7 Feed preparation technique (Importance of feed for animal husbandry, techniques used in feed preparation,the effect of the techniques used in feed preparation on feed quality). Reading the related referances. Lecture in class (Power-point presentation and films).
