Learning Outcomes of the Course |

Kows the importance of monitoring in genaral surgery. Holds accurate and reliable the record, collects data, analyze the clinical and laboratory data, reviews, share with patients in a professional manner Knows approach to diagnosis and treatment of common general surgery diseases in the community Tells and explains doses of the frequent used drugs by age,their effects and side effects Knows the criteria and conditions referring to hospital Knows approach to diagnosis and treatment of commongeneral surgical problem in the community, fluid and electrolyte therapy, priorities and importance and preventive medicine approach Know ethical and legal aspects of diagnosis and treatment procedures and evaluate the economic burden for the country Provides the information of the patients, discusses with the team, makes approach to the problem and writes patient report Establishes responsive and effective communication with patients and their relatives, gains the ability to inform the family, holistic, sensitive and respectful approach to child and his family, works in harmony with colleagues and medical staff Have to skill dessings, urinary catheters, nasogastric, rectal examination, suture application, injection, IVs , rectal tube, enemas, colostomy care, blood sampling, etc. Ability of lifelong learning Act in accordance with ethical values

Aims to teach the students etiology, pathophysiology and the principles of treatment of the diseases related to the general surgery, theoretically and to give opportunity to practice on the real patient (survey; examining the abdomen, breast and goitre, proctological examination; diagnosis; follow-up in the intensive care unit, watching operations) |

Acute abdomen diseases shock,, fluid and electrolyte balance,, surgery enfections. Small surgical operations.General approach to multiple traumas Benign breast diseases. Approach to goiter diseases and nodules and the surgical procedures.Parathyroid, hypercalcaemia and suprarenal diseases. Gall bladder disease. Hepatic transplantation. Hepatic tumors. Hydatic cysts. Etiology and epidemiology, anatomical pathology, diagnostic methods and treatment. Pancreas diseases. Esophagus diseases. Surgical diseases of stomach and duodenum other than peptic ulcer: Gastric volvulus, duodenal diverticulum, arteria mesenterica superior syndrome. Hiatus hernia. Benign colorectal diseases: rectal prolapsus, inflammatory bowel diseases, toxic megacolon, Crohn disease. Colorectal cancers. Acute appendicitis and bowel disease. Acute-chronic pancreatitis. Gallbladder diseases. |
