Learning Outcomes of the Course : 1. Knows the realities about women health and is sensitive to them.
2. Accepts the preventive medicine approach.
3. . Gets the patient’s history and prepares the patient and discuss her.
4. Knows the problems in gynaecology and obstetrics
5. Learns the auxiliary examination methods for diagnosis.
6. Knows the emergency interventions for obstetrics and gynaecology.
7. Knows normal delivery and manages it.
8. Knows pregnancy and birth problems.
9. Knows family planning.
10. Knows the risky situations for obstetrics and gynaecology and sends the patients to specialist who need further evaluation

Aim(s) of Course : The aim of the 4th grade Obstetrics and Gynaecology lesson is: The students will be sensitive to the society’s basic health necessities; they will learn the women health problems from the view of preventive medicine. They will learn the diseases, diagnosis and differential diagnosis of the problems. They will learn diagnosis of normal and pathologic conditions about pregnancy and delivery. They will learn the treatment of the problems necessary for 1st level medicine.

Course Contents : Normal delivery (theoretical and practical), pathologies related to delivery, antenatal and postnatal complications (theoretical and practical); endocrinology and pathophysiology of female genital system; disorders of sexual development; diseases, infections and functional disorders of female genital system and lower urinary tract; benign and malignant tumors of female genital system (theoretical)
