Definition of literature, concept of literature in Western and Turkish language; meanings of literature. Literary work; content and language in literary work. Language and form in literary work. Function of literature, literature and society; relations between author, literary work and reader. Literary theory, literary history, concepts of literary criticism. Concept of literary genre; basic criterions for differentiation between literary genres. General characteristics of narrative form and novel. Emergence of novel genre and its reasons; novel genre in western history. Prominent characteristics of novel genre; literary movements and novel. Fictional and contextual characteristics of novel. Genres of novel. Genres based on demonstration. Theatre as a literary text. General characteristics of theatre genre. Genres of theatre. |
