Learning Outcomes of the Course : Define human, self awareness, communication, Professional communication, therapeutic communication
Realize the effect of cognitive dimension of a human on his relations, his own cognitions, behavior patterns and self concept.
List self awareness methods, assertive behavior characteristics, therapeutic communication skills, anger and conflict management strategies.
Adapt therapeutic communication skills to nurse-patient relationship
List principles of communication used in special cases.
Know the factors that affect communication
Generalize and use the information about communication in other relationships.

Aim(s) of Course : At the end of this course, the students’ comprehending communication concept, importance of communication in human relations and factors effecting communication, basic features and needs of human, human with his cognitive dimension and affect process, identity concept, self awareness and mindfulness, human behavior characteristics, empathy, anger management, conflict in human relations and conflict management strategies, communication in special conditions, use of all of this information in nursing and carrying out is aimed.

Course Contents : Inludes transfer of information about effective communication gained via self awareness into social life and nursing care.
