Recognizes 5-8 grade science curriculum.
States instructional strategies and models.
Prepares a powerpoint presentation about a scientific article.
Makes a presentation of a scientific article.

Aim(s) of Course : This course aims to teach the main objectives of science education, science literacy, concept teaching (misconceptions, concept maps, concept cartoons, V, diagrams, etc.)., methods and materials used in the teaching of science and scientific process skills. In addition, 5 - 8 grade Science and Technology Education Program and textbooks are examined (themes, achievements, learning, evaluation, etc.).. Finally, the students will present an article from last 2 year-issues of Journal of Science and Technique being published by TÜBİTAK.

Course Contents : 1.Nature of science and science literacy 2.Cognitive development and science education (Piaget, Bruner, Gagne and Ausubel) 3. Science process skills 4.Alternative conceptions in science education 5.Instructional strategies and models. 6.Turkish primary science program at 5-8 grade 7. Article presentation from Science and Technique Journal
