Realizes basic weave structures and practices handweaving methods. Creates designs appropriate for weaving based on a selected theme. Gains the ability to practice weaving by combining color, yarn, material, texture research and technical parameters. Has knowledge about tartan fabrics and gains the ability to create sketches on CAD.

Aim(s) of Course |
: |
Students use the loom as a design tool and practice on loom-controlled weave structures, weave drafting and manipulation of warp, weft and woven fabric. To illustrate basic woven structures, striped and tartan designs on paper using design elements. |

Students use the loom as a design tool and practice basic weave structures such as plain, twill and satin in two-color combinations .Students design sketches for tartans and practice tartan weaving on a floor loom. |
