Understands and uses familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases. Introduces him/hersef and others. Asks and answers questions about personal details such as where he/she lives, people he or she knows and things he/she has. Interacts in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly. Understands sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of immediate relevance (e.g basic personal and family information). Exchanges information on familiar and routine matters. Understands the main points of a text related to everyday life. Produces simple connected texts on topics of personal interest. Describea his/her background in simple terms. Give ideas, reasons and explanations for opinions and plans. Deals with situations in an area where the language is spoken.
