Learns how to use the molecular genetic lab. and its rules. Learns how to prepare solutions, chemicals and buffers in molecular studies. Learns about the theoretical and practical research methods in molecular genetic. Gains practical skills on how to transfer research results obtained in molecular genetic to the practical applications. Learns the about elecrophoresis systems and PCR technology in detail.

The contents of this course include introduction and use of molecular genetic lab. , security in the lab, units, calculations, chemical substances, buffers, preparation of stock buffers and their uses, DNA extraction in plants, determination of DNA amount and quality, Gel electrophoresis systems, determination of amount of DNA in agarose gels, extraction of DNA band from agarose gel, cloning of extracted DNA from the gel, sequencing of cloned DNA band, Library types, genomic, chromosomal and DNA libraries, PCR and applications, problems and solutions in PCR reactions |
