Identifies the structure of vegetative and generative organs in fruit trees. Knows the aim of pruning and pruning methods. Has information about current pruning systems. Determines and applies relevant pruning systems according to the purpose of plant species and cultivar. Knows the effects of hormones on pruning.

Course Contents |

Subjects such as pruning and purposes of pruning in fruit trees, physiological principals of pruning, relationship between summer pruning and yield, ABA accumulation and pruning, rootstocks, classical pruning and modern pruning systems, relevant pruning systems and pruning shape, relations of rootstocks and cutting are emphasized. |
