Learning Outcomes of the Course : Describes the factors affecting the immunological degree of antigen.
Defines the terms of synthetic and semi-synthetic antigens.
Explains the terms of epitope, paratope and hapten and their characteristics.
Specifies types of antigens(hetero antigens,alloantigens, autoantigens, heterophil antigens).
Is able to explain the organs involved in the immune response.
Explains the roles of macrophages,mononuclear phagocytes,lymphocytes,natural killer cells,mast cells,leukocytes and thrombocytes in immune response.
Explains the roles of histocompatibility antigens in immune response.
Is able to describe MHC class I,II,III reigions and claassical MHC antigens.
Clarifies interleukins, interpherons, tumor necrose factors and chemotactic factors.
Explains the importance of membrane receptors for antigens.
Defines B and T cell surface receptors.
Explains the organization of receptors and the term somatic mutation.

Aim(s) of Course : To explain how humoral and cellular immune response occurs.

Course Contents : In this lesson, antigen and varieties of antigens, cells and organs responsible for immune response, MHCs, histocompatibility antigens and receptors are taught through teorical and visual methods.
