Learning Outcomes of the Course : Knows how to use a light microscobe.
Prepares solutions for tissue fixation.
Applies fixation techniques.
Applies dehydration and clearing of a tissue section.
Be able to embed the tissue sample appropriately.
Applies sectioning from a microtome and places the tissue section on a slide.
Applies staining methods.
Takes photos of the specimen on light microscope.
Offers solutions to problems at any technique step of the staining and preparation method.

Aim(s) of Course : Aim of this course to learn and apply tissue preparation techniques to investigate organs and tissues under light microscope.

Course Contents : Microscope types, Obtaining tissues, Fixation, Dehydration, Infiltration, Embedding, Sectioning, Staining, Decalsification
