Learning Outcomes of the Course : Learn the importance of fiber plants, fiber formation and main differences among the fibers of these plants
Know fiber quality characteristics and relations among these traits
Know essential measurement methods for fiber quality parameters and classification of fibers for quality
Gain practical experience on tests of fiber quality parameters at quality laboratories

Aim(s) of Course : The aim of the lesson is to provide students with a general overview of the basic knowledge of the importance of plant fibers, classification, important traits in terms of fiber technology and their relations with each other

Course Contents : Main plant fiber species, classification of fibers, fiber formation, chemical and physical properties of fibers, fiber quality parameters and their measurement methods
