Learning Outcomes of the Course : Knows items such as aruz wezni in classical poems.
Recognizes the verse forms in Turkish-Islamic literature .
Becomes aware of the genres of poetry in Turkish-Islamic literature.
Understands the relationship between the topic and the genre of poem in Turkish-Islamic Literatüre.
Understands the differences between poetry and prose.

Aim(s) of Course : The aim is to introduce the features of poetry in Turkish-Islamic Literature to students

Course Contents : In this course, concepts such as poem´s measure (aruz), form (poetry forms), genre (poetry genres) etc. and the books Cönk (books of folk/tekke poetry) and the Divan ( book of ancient poetry) will be covered.
