Learning Outcomes of the Course : Has knowledge of the mesnevis with a common topic in Arabic, Persian and Turkish Literature.
Comprehends the structural features of mesnevis.
Recognizes the main mesnevi and "hamse" writers
Recognizes the historical progress and change in mesnevis.
Can classify the mesnevis based on their literary types.
Knows the types and parts of mesnevis.
Develops awareness of the academic studies and publications on mesnevis.
Can compare the narrative types belonging to new and old cultures.

Aim(s) of Course : The aim is to introduce the "mesnevi" verse type which is used particularly in Religious-Mystic poetic works

Course Contents : The analysis, comparison and evaluation of some basic texts wriiten in Mesnevi form in Turkish-Islamic literature.
