Learning Outcomes of the Course |

Learns about the classical Turkish poetry. Understands the relationship between poetry, the poet and culture. Knows the similarities and differences between expo,interpretation and commentary. Becomes aware of the difference between the religious understanding in the Divan Poetry and the Classical Turkish Poetry. Can trace the Sufic feelings and thoughts in Classical Turkish poetry Recognizes the similar and different aspects of Classical Turkish Poetry and Sufic Poetry. Recognizes that Classical Turkish Poetry benefits from the sources of the Qur´an and Hadith.

The aim of this course is to provide students with the knowledge of commentary tradition in Turkish Literature and help them analyse the texts of that period based on the language, thought, world view, existence and art perceptions of the period they were written in. |
