1. Obtains information over distrubution of horticulture genetic resources in Turkey and in the World. 2. Learns characterization and identification of genetic resources. 3.Discusses the importance of techniques such as cryoprezervation, in situ and ex situ conservation, marker systems used for identification of genetic resources. 4. Knows theoretical and practical methods on evaluation of genetic resources and its usage in breeding. 5. Has application ability on how to transfer theoretical knowledge and resaerch outcomes in to practice.

The aim of the course is to represent the importance of horticultural genetic resources and germplasm usage areas. |

Course Contents |

The course mainly includes subjects such as distribution of horticultural genetic resources in Turkey and in the World, identification and characterization of germplasm, markers used in molecular identifications, in situ and ex situ conservation, cryopreservation, evaluation of germplasm, possibilities, problems and rules of germplasm usage in breeding. |
