Recognizes Turkish Folk Beliefs, makes an anology between Ancient Turkish Beliefs and Islam, separates the Ancient Turkish Beliefs from the living folk beliefs in İslam culture and learns local beliefs living in different parts of Turkish society.
Gets informed profoundly about the ancient Turkish Religions Recognizes Shamanism and its practices Recognizes beliefs about the nature which are Sacred Mountains, Sacred Stones, Fire, Water and Air Souls etc.
Defines the concepts of faith and beliefs. Analyzes the pre-Islamic belief system . Analyzes cults in Pre-Islamic belief systems.

Aim(s) of Course |
: |
Turkish people who contacted with many different traditions, cultures, civilizations and world´s great religious systems throughout history, possess rich cultural heritage in terms of religious life. This rich religious heritage, should be analyzed within objective and scientific perspectives. Thus, it will both teach us the roots of our ethnic and cultural existence in a true meaning and enrich our today´s daily life and culture. The aim of this course is to mark the ancient traces from past to the present. |

Course Contents |

This lesson includes all the beliefs that Turkish people have accepted throughout history in general terms. Those beliefs are Shamanism, Tengri, Sacred Mountains, Water & River Souls, Fire Soul etc. and rituals like´Yug (Rain-calling)´. It also examines Islam in Turkish History and Turkish Folk Beliefs. This lesson includes topics such as, Totems, animism, spirit, shamanism, Budizim, of Zoroastrians, Manihaizim Turks and Abrahamic religions, Islam, Pre Connected Belief Systems of the cult, Put-Fetish, Cult, Cult of Ancestors, Sky God, the cult, the Cult of Nature, Death and the Cult of the Dead, Magic and Growth , fortune telling and prophecy, shape-changing Don |
