Aim(s) of Course : The aim of this course is to examine and evaluate the textbooks for the Turkish language courses at the elementary secondary stage in terms of form, content and educational values.

Course Contents : The contents of this course include the position of textbook as one of the most important requisite for a course; introduce the outer conditions (laws, regulations; school types, market conditions, etc.) and inner conditions (methods to be used, features of subject area, physical conditions, etc.), and to make practices on this issue; to benefit from the sources in the world on examining the textbook; forms and richness of the exercises for questioning and understanding the language, thematic integrity which is a significant point in selecting a textbook, text choice and diversity at Turkish language courses, functions of the elements as page layout and using graphic elements, and to present them practically in different textbooks (old-new) using different concepts, to make studies for each prospective teacher to observe a textbook concerning his/her domain in the wide perspective and to prepare an evaluation report (in this study the textbooks in different concepts prepared for the different educational programs being applied from the early Republican period to present should be used.)
