Learning Outcomes of the Course |

Knows the historical Kipchak dialects and works. Knows the connection between historical Kipchak with old Turkish. Recognizes Kipchak dialects that coexisted at the same period. Knows the present Kipchak dialects which are the continuation of historical Kipchak and their relationships. Recognizes Kipchak Turkish within the periods of Turkish language. Understands that language is a carrier of culture. Knows that the elements of language are not only literary.
Knows the phonology, morphology, and syntax of historical Kipchak Turkish based on sample texts. Is able to compare Kipchak Turkish with its contemporary dialects, older dialects and present day dialects.

Introducing Altınordu Kipchak Turkish, Khorezm-Altınordu Kipchak Turkish, Egyptian Mameluk Kipchak, and Armenian Kipchak in the history of Turkish language, evaluation of works, introducing phonology, morphology, vocabulary and general features of historical Kipchak dialects, evaluation of works through publications, references giving, phonology, morphology, vocabulary, semantic studies on the transcribed texts by Codex Cumanicus, Saadet Çağatay and V.
