Learning Outcomes of the Course : Knows Karakhanid Turkish which is the first Islamic written language of the z / ş arms of Turkish.
Is able to compare and contrast the language and literature of Karakhan Turkish with old Turkish.
Is able to see the relationship between literary languages developed after the Karakhan Turkish with this period.
Knows the phonology, morphology and syntax of the Karakhan Turkish period.
Recognizes the cultural history of Turkey Karahan section.
Knows the resource works of Turkish vocabulary.
Knows the relationship between the vocabulary of contemporary Turkish dialects and vocabulary of Karakhan Turkish.
Knows the brancing and differentiating periods of Turkish dialects.
Is able to transcribe and interpret peridoic texts.

Aim(s) of Course : Introducing the historical Turkic language known as the Khaqani Turkish and teaching how to distinguish between other historical languages.

Course Contents : Presentation of Karakhan works, phonetics, morphology, syntax of the works in the period, evaluation of the history of Karakhan, comparison of Karakhanid Turkish with early periods and later periods, bibliography, transcription, comprehension, phonetics, morphology studies, literary text of selected readings from Kutadgu Bilig text, reading, transcription, comprehension, phonetics, morphology, vocabulary exercises, writing textwriting poems from the Lugati´t-Turk, reading, transcription, comprehension, phonetics, morphological studies, from selected portions of Atabetü´l-Hakayık, selected portions, vocabulary, phonetics, morphology studies of the Rylands translation of the Qur´an.
