Learning Outcomes of the Course |

Is able to analyse the reviewed/studied plays in terms of content and form. Is able to explain the series of events, theme (the main idea) and conflicting elements of the studied plays. Is able to explain the characters´ tragic mistakes in the play and accordingly, also explains the fateful alteration points in the plot. Is able to explain the exposition, node and resolution parts of the studied plays. Is able to explain the status and importance of the studied plays and their authors in the history of theatre- theatre literature. Is able to explain to what extent the studied plays and their authors match with the thought of theatre in their own periods. Is able to read and analyse a theater text within the framework of the basic principles of dramaturgy.

Aim(s) of Course |

In the context of the basic concepts of Dramaturgy Pottery, the aim is to review the plays called Andros Beauty, Everymen, Macbeth, Hamlet, Pheidra, Hernani, Cryno de Bergerac, Emilia Galotti, Nora-A Doll´s House, Miss Julie, Cherry Orchard, Ghosts Sonata in terms of content and style, and by this way determine the status and importance of these plays and these authors in the theatre thought appeared in this period. |

Naturalism and Realism: Henrik Ibsen, August Strindberg, and Anton Chekhov´s play.
